Introduction to Black & White Film Developing

Just turn up with a B & W roll of film you have shot off prior to the workshop. During this workshop you will learn the art of developing black and white film from start to finish. Experience how to load film into a processing tank and mix chemicals to develop your film.
Whether you're new to film photography or looking to refresh your developing skills, this workshop is perfect for photographers of all levels.

Bring your B & W negatives, and you will will be shown how to make a contact sheet, from which you will select some images to develop into prints. watch the magic of your photographs appear before your eyes.

  • Analogue Camera Basics: Dive into the fundamentals of analogue photography. Learn about different types of analogue cameras, and how to master their manual controls to capture stunning images.

  • Film Selection and Loading: Gain hands-on experience in selecting the right film for your desired effect and loading it into your camera with precision.

  • Shooting Session: Take your analogue camera for a spin as we explore picturesque surroundings of Glynllifon Park. From landscapes to portraits, unleash your creative vision through the lens of your analogue camera.

  • Break for lunch

  • Film Developing Process: Immerse yourself in the captivating alchemy of film development. Learn the step-by-step process of developing your captured images, from chemical mixing to the magic of watching your photographs come to life in the darkroom.

  • Day 2

  • Print Your Own Masterpieces: Elevate your workshop experience by printing your favorite photographs from the workshop's shoot. Witness the intriguing process of enlarging, exposing, and developing your image onto photographic paper.

  • Location: Studio 8 & 10 Glynllifon Country Park

  • Participants: 2 maximum
